new collection this friday
hi sweet friends! i hope you all are doing great. i have been hard at work testing new colors for a new collection dropping this friday and soaking up the summer in between. i am so excited to introduce this new cast of colors to you! read on for all the drop info.
new colors
this friday, july 17th at 9am PST, i will release the new collection of colors on the webshop! all colors will be available in both chunky mugs and matcha bowls. it has been a long time since i released a brand new collection and i am so excited to offer new colors! this collection is summery, sweet, and punchy.
FYI this drop will be a little different. since there are quite a few new colors, i made a limited amount in each color to start. if a color sells out that you want, please sign up for the waitlist! this way, i know which colors are in demand and you will be notified when they are restocked. i’ll glaze more mugs ASAP so the restock is speedy!

“Dom's $20K Wedding” Upstairs Neighbors Podcast Episode 125 — so first off: these are my divas. love the pod so much and they bring so much humor and levity to my week.
their talk about “discourse culture” resonated with me. i’ve wanted to write about this feeling for while but didn’t feel i had concrete thoughts to commit to the internet. they discussed the social media shift to monolithic thinking and contrasting opinions holding too much weight. i see so often in comment sections some variation of, “if you believe/enjoy/agree with x, that means y about you.” it leaves so little room for nuance and the paradoxical nature of our modern lives. i saw this video today that brought up this very topic and articulated the point so well. like, let’s bring back “to each their own” in a big way!
i stayed off tiktok for the duration of love island usa’s newest season and it was heaven. i was able to form my own opinions without being subconsciously influenced by the innumerable videos i was being shown about contestants’ behavior and possible motivations. as stated in the podcast episode, aside from inflammatory statements concerning human rights and the like, it’s okay to agree to disagree. even better, we can share those differing opinions and see things from a new perspective.
as a reality tv lover, the parasocial relationship between viewers and reality stars has felt increasingly icky. i say this with the utmost humanity possible; i don’t wish for these people, rather characters, to exist outside of my tv. for me, i don’t want to interact with reality celebrities unless they are restricted to the heavily produced containers in which their characters live. because in actuality, these are real people. i do not know them! at all! i don’t know what they deal with or what trauma they endured to make them act the way they do. and i have no desire to affect their lives in any way. they may do things i do not like and i’ll bitch about it in a group chat but that’s as far as i want to take it.
i have been rejecting the notion of good and bad when referring to media i consume. it feels too rigid, too objective. for any movie i watch, album i listen to, and so on — i ask myself did you enjoy it? obviously, that isn’t always a yes or no. but it has helped me feel confident in my opinion instead of blanking internally if i could decipher whether it was “good” or not. things can’t always be so black and white because our world isn’t like that. i can like a book or movie or album for what it makes me feel and not need to evaluate it with a rubric. maybe someone else enjoys that but for me, it takes all the fun out of it. i want media to be undefined and nebulous. is it good? i don’t know. but did it evoke emotion? that’s a much more fruitful discussion.
i could have fleshed out these thoughts into something more precise but i just wanted to get it off my chest and let it exist. but hopefully this makes some sense!
